Title: Cicchinelli wins bid to run in mayoral race
Post by: Al. on July 31, 2015, 01:56:12 PM
Both Francis Cicchinelli Jr. and  Tom Bernabei will be candidates for Massillon and Canton mayor this fall.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Friday that both candidates had done what they needed to disaffiliate from the Democratic Party and run as independents in their cities, breaking tie votes from the Stark County Board of Elections.

Also after hearing this news about the mayoral races, the sad and soft sounds of Sarah McLachlan are now heard in the Gate House news rooms of Canton and Massillon.

Good. But it had to go all the way to C'bus for someone to finally say that the entire history of the republic is replete with political freedom. That's sad. But now FHC may have to assure KCP that he is not a racist. You know that she can get a mite prickly about that.

It's nice to know that your freedom hinges on how much power the Democratic Party has.

If only Husted wasn't a republican we'd have the freedom to choose from whatever candidates the Democratic Party wanted us to choose from.

Mayor Kathy Cavernous Potholes has found extra money for the city budget. She saved her winnings from John Lanigan's Prize Movie from 1983. Thanks to a legal loophole found by moi, the money has been transferred to the City General Fund.

Protesters have filed an appeal with the Ohio Supreme Court in the Bernabei case.  Could one in the Cicchinelli case be far behind?

Not likely.  Stark dem party doesn't really give a shit about anything outside of canton.

Spot on, Al. Of course if they appeal they will be making fools of themselves. The precedent for this was set long ago. I can't wait to see how this election plays out. Will Frank and the Skank neutralize each other and Massillon get a Republican Mayor? Wow wouldn't THAT be something.

LOL. Yep, glad someone picked up on that. And then put one of my heroes as the picture. LOVED Coach McKay. Every year we went to the same corporate Christmas party. He made sure we spent a good thirty minutes in a booth at Malios talking about the old OSU/USC days. Along with when the Bucs absolutely stunk up the Old Sombrero. Great man. I miss him.

Mark Ross? Did he have a little shop on Lincoln Way halfway between Mayflower Village and downtown?

If so, I can relate a little story about him and a haircut that I got that pissed my Mom off until her dying day. It speaks well of him though.

The State Supreme Court has ruled that both Frank and Tom Bernabei can run as Independents in the November election.
