Title: When Bad States Go Good
Post by: BuddyH on February 17, 2016, 09:55:01 PM
CA has been on the losing end of several 2nd Amendment cases lately.  What's that funny smell?  Freedom?

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/02/17/california-fights-fed-court-ruling-against-10-day-wait-period-for-vetted-gun-owners.html?intcmp=hpbt3

Before I escaped to America, I lived in CA for 20+ years.  Before you can even attempt to buy a gun, you have to take a written "safety" test and it costs $25.  The test is a joke.  The first time I had take it, I let my son (12 at the time) take it for me.  He scored 100%.  Then you have to pass a special CA background check for each and every gun you buy.  Another $25 for each background check.  Then you must wait 10 days until you can take possession.  When you take possession you must pass a  hands-on safety test with that specific gun.  Another $25.  Oh, and you must prove that you have either a gun safe or a gun lock for each and every gun that you buy.

The link I posted states:

Blanket application of the Golden State’s longstanding waiting period was ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge in August 2014, but Attorney General Kamala Harris has kept it in place while the state appeals the ruling.

Say what?  It was ruled unconstitutional but she kept in place?  Only in CA can you see such jaw-dropping, liberal contempt for the Constitution.

OK, let's rock.  Name one instance where a CA conservative refused to acknowledge written law or a court ruling on the Constitution.  Perhaps you missed the clear import that my post pertained to CA.

While you are mulling that over, allow me to educate you on even more examples of CA liberals contempt for the law and the Constitution:

When Gavin Newsome was the mayor of Frisco, in clear violation of state law, he issued marriage licenses to gay & lesbians.  And then on the steps of city hall, he officiated at mass same-sex marriages.  He clearly acknowledged that his actions were contrary to state law and carried on nonetheless.  He stopped only when the state Supreme Court (no bastion of conservatism) ordered him to do so.  In the event, all of the same-sex marriages were deemed null and void.  How reckless of him.

A liberal state senator attempted to raise alcohol taxes.  When it was pointed out to him that the CA Constitution reserved that power to the Alcoholic Beverage Control board, he responded, "I know.  But if we pass it, I'm hoping for a favorable ruling from the courts."

A liberal state senator tried to ban and seize all magazines that held more than 10 rounds.  When it was pointed out to her that that would be an unconstitutional ex post facto law, she replied, "If we give them (citizens) two years to comply, it should be OK."

And I could go on.  If you'd like to discuss this issue on a national basis rather that just CA, I'm your man.  Let's dance...

My favorite part was about those morons holding a 9mm or .45 sideways.  You've probably seen that idiocy in movies or on TV.  Anyone who knows anything at all about firearms, physics and recoil, laughs at the prospect.  Those wannabe bad asses would be lucky to randomly hit anything.  Usually they miss their intended target from halfway across the street with their 1st shot and kill some 4 year old baby half a block away with their 2nd and 3rd shot.  It happens every day.
