2010 Touchdown Club Report, Week 1.
Head Coach Jason Hall was the featured speaker for the first meeting of the 2010 season. Hall says despite an impressive 10-4 record and a trip to the state semifinals last season, the Tigers will not rest on its laurels. The staff continues to send the message that respect is earned play by play, game by game and season by season.
This summer the team participated in a three day camp at the University of Mount Union, which also included teams from Avon, Jackson and North Canton. From there it was on to...

Gov. Stickland to put an end to the live Obie program.
With the flick of a wrist, Gov. Ted Strickland will both appease
radical liberal political groups and kill the live Obie program in
Massillon.
"Gov. Strickland will issue an EXECUTIVE ORDER banning exotic animals "
from the Columbus Dispatch.
Over the weekend, at the picnic in the park, I spoke with the folks from
Stump Hill, where Obie comes from every year, and they stated this
year's Obie will likely be the last due to this executive order. You
see, it effectively kills what SHF does with rescuing exotic animals and
doesn't allow new animals, so that means no more Obie cubs.
PETA, USHS win, Massillon, S.H.F. and the farming industry lose. You
see, Gov Ted struck this "compromise" deal trying to prevent the USHS
from turning Ohio into California. You may have seen them around,
passing petitions to "Ban puppy mills". The ballot issue they were
pushing was no such thing and if you actually read the law they wanted
pass it effectively did nothing to shut down puppy mills. What did it
do? Banned exotic animals and put such high regulation on the farmers
in Ohio that it would have killed agriculture in Ohio the way it has
done in California.
Look into it, call Stump Hill and ask them about it... more importantly,
call Gov. Strickland's office and tell him to NOT sign the executive
order banning Obie. 614-466-2000

Should the Fed want Massillon?
In case you are wondering, no this isn't just another article about if we should join the Federal League... It's about if they should want us and, better yet, why they don't.
Let's start off with a quote from Yappi.com that, while only a snipet from one poster, sums up a lot of the feeling that some fans of their teams have...
From 12346
"IF a big IF Massillon joins, local police will have to beef up security when the the deviants of West Canton come to town. On the bright side the local recycling companies with be making big business with all the empty Blatz beer cans littered all over the place. Oh and local mechanics will be on call just in case the any of the transportation breaks down."
For the sake of hot hurting feelings, I'll let this statement speak for itself and will address other issues instead.
This week's topic?
--Playoff points--
While it may seem that having another team in the league that has only had 3 losing seasons since the death of disco, the hard facts of the matter speak volumes. For example...
