I absolutely love the place. I go back to the days when you could throw peanut shells on the floor.  At one time or another, I have had most of the items on the menu. Of course, the traditional German food is delicious.   But this is my favorite:

“Haus Specialty”: Rib eye steak, char-broiled to order and served open-faced
on a grilled garlic- butter hoagie bun with sauteed mushrooms......... $ 7.99

I was there many years ago. I grew up eating traditional German food in my family, so it's among my favorite cuisine choices.

If you've ever gotten a par on the 7th hole at the legendary Lyons Den and then ate a Hogzilla sammitch at SPUD'S in Bowdil following your round of golf, you are RIDER LAND material.

Come to think of it. I've never seen you eat anything. You must be on a strict liquid diet with a few peanuts tossed in.  ROFL

Until recently, we had a restaurant in the area called the Heidleburg.  The old guy who owned it died a couple years ago, so it's now closed.

This guy was a German still living in Germany.  But he'd come over here in the late fall and open the restaurant for our annual tourist season.

My favorite food there was his veal shank -- man, was it good!  The bone stuck up in the air, with crisp meat, and you felt like a Viking eating a meal.

I'm not a beer drinker, but he had dark beer there, which I've always liked. Never more than one beer, though.  Of course, they had that damn German umpa yodel music playing all the frickin' time, but it was low volume, so I got through it.  Candlelight the whole way.  And foxy German gals serving you.

Nice place.  Wish it hadn't gone away.  I'd like to visit your Geisen Haus.
