Is it any wonder Cleve teams never win titles? Mike Brown definitely belonged at the Citgo chili dog counter, but to replace him with Tom Izzo?

You're going to ask LeBron to play 58-56 Big 10 bloody nose basketball in the NBA?

They tried that with Fratello. Heck, they did that under Mike Brown to a lesser degree.

And what's up with Danny Ferry getting canned (yeah, I don't think he really resigned) and a 'yes man' for owner Dan Gilbert is named as the new GM?

Is this the Quicken Loans business model?

Does Dan Gilbert only look to his native Michigan for coaches or how to run a business?

I'd take Byron Scott, Avery Johnson, heck....John Calipari and his sleazy used car lot mentality....over Tom "Jump up and down and scream at the officials ad nauseum" Izzo.

Can someone tell me why Carlos Santana and Michael Brantley are at AAA Cowlumbus when over the hill stiffs like Branyan, Kearns, Shelley Duncan, and Grudz (sp.) are on the big league roster? What kind of strategy is this? Load the roster up with stiffs and not let the young talent learn at the major league level? Why is Raphael Perez still in the majors? Is there not a Burger King in Parma he could be gainfully employed at?

It gets better.

Matt LaPorta has been sent to Cowlumbus and the great Andy Marte will now take a roster spot. You do not develop players at the major league level by treating them like a yo yo that goes up and down constantly between the majors and AAA.

Considering the fact that Mark Shapiro's father is an agent....it makes me wonder if he has conned the Indians ownership through slick talk and BS....and thus managed to not only hold on to his GM job, but get promoted to Team President.

This franchise is a joke.

I'm 100% in supports of Tom Izzo, the fireworks at Tribe games (This Friday night), AND the all you can eat seats. When they have the all you can drink seats I might buy season tix.  ROFL

Tom Izzo = Le League Federale half-court coach.

The fact Dolan's Discounts have to emphasize constant mind-numbing promotions instead of their on-field product speaks volumes.

Izzo = Best coach in the best conference in the nation. Don't be a hater just because he's from Meatchicken. The guy can coach. Not so sure how well he'll do at the next level as many good college coach's have failed but I'm not going to knock the guy who's obviously in the top tier of his profession.

This ranks right up there with the "lead pipe lock" with this year's Cavaliers.

I don't think the ACC or Big East are losing sleep over Big 10 basketball.

This is a bad fit, bad hire, and another reason why Cleve won't win a title. The owner needed to can Mike Brown, but hire someone with NBA experience, not a little Napoleon who plays a slower pace than the coach who just got fired. That's not what this roster needs. They have greyhounds and you're asking them to WALK.

Rider's right and you're clueless? Best conference in the nation? Give me some of what you are smoking. Coach K doesn't even know the Big Ten exists because all those teams are gone by the time they would get to play Duke.

I had no doubt Izzo would turn down the Cav's job.
This franchise is going down the tubes.
Fast.

Ah, the Cleveland Indians.
Now, they're playing like the Indians teams of my youth.
Mathematically eliminated by the 4th of July.

Byron Scott was the best candidate all along and the adventure to land Tom Izzo was a giant distraction and totally a bad decision. Now, if you're Byron Scott, why come to Cleveland when the owner was passing over you for a college coach who never coached in the NBA?

If you're Scott, you tell Dan Gilbert to pound salt and wait for the Lakers job if it opens.

Gilbert has completely mismanaged this situation. Just as Mark Shapiro has completely mismanaged the Dolan Discounts and that team should not get one nickle of anyone's money.
